Meet Hannah

When she isn’t flying around in the air – literally – and you’ll have to read on to find out how exactly – the newest member of team BED is seamlessly blending her stellar design skills with a rock solid grasp of developing. Which means she is the perfect addition to the team.

How Hannah got here

Hannah brings with her two decades in digital, most of it in e-commerce. Hannah’s worn both hats – designer and developer – long enough to stitch them into one: a true hybrid who can translate between creative ambition and technical reality. That blend of taste and technique is exactly what brought her to BED and why we wanted her on the team.

What she does (and why it works)

Official title: Senior Frontend Developer.
IRL: the person who turns wireframes into buttery-smooth, accessible experiences.

  • Pixel perfection: the spacing, the fonts, the colours, the micro-interactions – if it’s on the page it’s being checked.
  • Certified on the shop floor: Magento and Shopify creds; new themes from scratch, plus feature enhancements to existing ones.
  • UX meets UI: performance, semantic markup and accessibility.
  • A dash of Figma: jumping in with marketing and ad-hoc visuals when an additional design eye is needed.

Hannah on BED

“Working with BED so far has been great. I’m really enjoying working with smaller retail brands, where meaningful improvements can be made and delivered quickly. Coming from a large agency background, I’m used to long sign-off processes and slow turnarounds for even minor changes. It’s refreshing to see how small updates can have a big, immediate impact for our clients.”

Favourite project (so far)

She’s new to the team and still getting to know the full roster, so no single favourite just yet – but she’s loving the variety:

How Hannah works

    • Design-dev bridge: speaks both languages; keeps intent intact from concept to code.
    • Accessibility as default: Good semantics, readable type, colour contrast – baked in, not bolted on.
  • Platforms: Adobe Commerce/Magento, Shopify & WordPress

Beyond the screen

When the BED day is done, Hannah is a mum and an aerialist, yep we actually typed that, in her spare time she likes to climb silks or twirl on an aerial hoop. Which means she needs equal parts patience, strength, and “how on earth did she do that?” mentality.

Parting wisdom

“The digital industry is vast, front-end covers so many areas: from frameworks to platforms. Find the part you enjoy most, specialise in it, and focus your energy there. Loving what you do makes all the difference.”

Uniquely Hannah

Designer’s eye, developer’s discipline, and the literal ability to hang upside-down while thinking through a layout. (We don’t encourage coding mid-air. Yet.)
