Established in 2006, Big Eye Deers is a team of talented web designers and developers based in Cardiff, South Wales.

We specialise in creating and communicating clear, compelling brand and marketing messages across all media.

We are coding experts with a team boasting decades of experience in professional web application development - our speciality is PHP and MySQL-based applications. We aren’t the types to get locked into a single solution, so we tailor web platforms depending on our clients’ requirements.

Our creative concepts will set you apart from the competition, while building solid relationships with your target audience by delivering an experience, rather than just providing a product or service.

We have the flexibility to work with our clients in a way that best meets their objectives, but our simple, yet effective, approach remains the same – we listen, we think, we design, we create.

SteveAn expert in combining innovative designs with all current technology has to offer, Steve has extensive experience that spans the entire creative design spectrum – whether it’s print, branding or website communications, he effortlessly crafts the industry’s most visually striking and unforgettable designs.

In his role as Creative Director for Big Eye Deers, Steve is responsible for the initial creative designs and innovative aspects of every website, print, and branding project that comes through our doors.

RussellThanks to Russell, Big Eye Deers never experiences any “technical difficulties”.

Russell’s experience with many different development environments and programming languages has allowed him to provide custom-built data solutions to businesses large and small.

Holding a Master’s Degree in Computing, he has more than ten years’ professional software development experience, tackling projects as diverse as multi-user database solutions using MySQL or Oracle, custom applications for businesses built in Java, specialised interface design, and interactive, media-rich websites using Flash, AJAX, and PHP.

JenniJenni is here to keep the Big Eye Deers team running smoothly. Whether you need updates on a project, require some scintillating copy or simply want to talk about how we could make your site even more spectacular Jenni is just a phone call (or email or tweet) away.

Jenni began her career as a columnist for National Press in Wales before moving to London to freelance as a Content Manager for web and mobile platforms (Virgin).  She went on to write for a number of national consumer lifestyle magazines (DJ Mag, Vice, Maxim, heat, Loaded, Men’s Fitness, LOOK!) before moving across to digital media where her creative and copywriting skills were applied to Online Editor roles (Bizarre Magazine website re-launch, Durex – Online Community launch) specialising in Social Media, e-commerce, Website Management and Online Journalism & Publishing. Web-obsessed and a social networking junkie, Jenni is passionate about the pivotal role that digital media has to play in the growth of any brand, person or product.

ZakZak Grindle is our resident web development guru, working on a range of projects utilising PHP, CodeIgniter, MySQL, and jQuery.

With a First Class Honours Degree in Computer Science from Cardiff University, Zak is our go-to developer, building bespoke content management systems, Facebook applications and anything else we throw his way.

Zak's interests aren't all computer-based, however; when the desk shackles are free, he spends his weekends DJing and surfing amid Wales’ spectacular beaches.

Andy Finlay - Designer / andy@bigeyedeers.co.uk

AndyHighly skilled in a diverse range of software packages including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver, Andy is responsible for the structure and design of client web sites, online portals and micro sites, as well as creating motion graphics such as Flash animations.

A Graphic Communication graduate from the University for the Creative Arts at Farnham, Andy has a keen design eye for all things branding, print and web and forms an integral part of the Big Eye Deers team, who pride themselves on producing the industry’s most outstanding websites.

SimonSimon loves building great websites especially ones that do something a little bit different or clever - he's dab-hand at CodeIgniter, MySQL and is the official Big Eye Deers MVC genius.

Having originally studied International Politics at University of Wales, Aberystwyth, Simon then switched to web development and has been creating websites now for over 10 years.

Simon is a lover of Homebrewing and motorsport - but ensures us this is not done at the same time!
