Think Digital
Think Digital is a collaborative event hosted by Big Eye Deers and features other local digital companies.
Brief
Our aim is to reach out and inspire the Cardiff’s local businesses with digital insight. We wanted to create a website that provided visitors with an informative and enjoyable browsing experience as well as a platform that would be highly SEO’d. It needed to be on a system which could be easily updated without a custom CMS build.
Design
We chose to design a custom-built Wordpress site as it was the perfect solution to all our requirements. Movement was injected into the site with a jQuery scrolling blog feed on the homepage which featured imagery to support news stories. The top nav contained the Think Digital brand colours and expanded through a jQuery accordion drop down menu. In order to set up a payment gateway for ticket purchases we included Paypal integration. Social media platforms were also an important element and played a big part in the success of the event by increasing its online presence. Branded social media platforms were put in place and populated and a newsletter template was designed and sent through Mailchimp to a database taken from the sign up form on the homepage and a sign-up Facebook app.
Solution
The event got some great buzz and is now running regularly. Think Digital as a brand is continually growing and gaining interest and the fact that it was a collaborative event shows how digital companies in Wales are working together to support local businesses. The strong and colourful branding works well both on and offline and the functions and easy user-interface of the website shows that Think Digital really is at the forefront of technology and design.
