Metropolitan provide unique and innovative solutions to the financing of site infrastructure on large capital-intensive development projects. They are part of Inexus Group, the UK’s leading sustainable utility and energy provider and their products include Zero Carbon Energy Heating, Fully Managed Energy Services and water, fibre and electricity solutions.
Brief
After working closely with the client on their high-quality ‘Metro’ publication aimed at UK land and property developers, Metropolitan felt that their website needed to reflect the same professional, creative, fresh thinking so commissioned us to design and develop a website that successfully portrayed this.
Design
We wanted to create a site that used custom illustrations and a unique design to show how Metro products were not only innovative but also sustainable, working in harmony with the environment and our towns and cities. After discussions with the client, we decided a CSS3 animated scrolling site was the way to go, depicting everyday life in a greener, brighter future. The illustrations and animated functions add character and movement to the scene, showing how Metropolitan provides energy solutions that are un-obtrusive and beneficial to both their customers and the landscape. jQuery provides interactive, animated navigation throughout the site allowing you to explore the different areas of Metropolitan along with the animated scenery. We also designed and built a Wordpress blog page with a custom skin to integrate within the site, adding another sunny scene to our picturesque landscape.
Solution
We love the bright, vibrancy of the new Metropolitan site! With a fully responsive layout for mobile devices and built in HTML5 for rich, interactive content it successfully conveys the message that a better, greener future isn’t far off. From illustration to copywriting industry-related articles and case studies, we’re really pleased with all the hard work that went into the project and so is the client.
